Photoshop Retouching - How Much Is Too Much?
We live in such a dangerous world of Social Media where everyone we see looks like a celebrity with perfect skin, barbie doll bodies, symmetrical features etc. All the pictures we see have been put through some kind of filter or retouched in some way.
This is highly dangerous because our kids end up thinking this is in some way, normal and if they don’t look like that then they must be ‘not normal’. Is it any wonder that so many teenagers have eating disorders and grow up feeling inadequate.?
Do you remember Kate Moss, the supermodel? She was the one out partying all night with Johnny Depp and only those who have actually gone out partying all night and smoked like a chimney will actually know that you will certainly not wake up the next day with flawless skin. At some point you need to put the work in with excercise, lots of water and less cigs. The rest is amazing hair and make-up.
Before and Afters - Yorkshire Boudoir Photography
When potential clients look at our website, one of the first pages they look for in the gallery are the ‘BEFORE/AFTERS - We hear comments about how amazing these women look all the time. This is the result of great hair and makeup which every client receives at the start of every shoot. Then our secret is great lighting and posing and our communication with our clients. Believe it or not, when a relationship is built up on a shoot with communication, the client’s face lights up and everything looks more beautiful.
Every day of our lives we are bombarded with pictures of perfect people, living perfect lives and everything exists through a filter of photoshop or instagram or whatever. It’s all too easy to forget that these people don’t just party all night and then wake up with perfect hair and flawless skin. No, we’re not all as perfect as the fictitious people we see on social media everyday.
