We would define a Luxury Boudoir Experience as one with a photographer who specialises in Boudoir Photography and offers a high-end, highly personalised experience which is different for each client depending on their needs. There are a number of differences you will notice between a Luxury Boudoir Experience such as ours and the majority of alternative Boudoir Studios.

This article has been written to show you how to find exactly the boudoir studio for you and for the purposes of this article we assume that you’ve never booked a Boudoir Photographer before.

Choosing a Boudoir Photographer is a little like choosing a restaurant in that, naturally, you will have some pre-conceived ideas about where to go based on past experiences, so if Pasta is really not your thing then don’t go to an Italian restaurant, right? Maybe, but if the chef is exceptional and they do good fish, then….

The first thing to know about Boudoir studios is that, like good food, quality takes time and can’t be created in a hurry. Some Boudoir studios are ‘high volume’ studios (Often called ‘makeover studios’) where you can expect to see many other clients having hair and makeup done at the same time and waiting their turn to have a studio session. The laws of economics determine that these kind of studios are not as highly personalised and tend to be a little shorter and straight to the point. You’ll be taken through a fairly standardised set of poses and your pictures will end up looking similar to the girl who came before you and will probably look similar to the girl who’s having her hair and makeup done while you’re being photographed. This may be perfect for your needs, after all, no one complains when McDonalds provide a super generic and fast service to satisfy your hunger. You know exactly what the fries will taste like before you try them, everytime.

If you post loads of selfies and are pretty happy with them and are happy with the way you look, this could be the perfect boudoir experience for you.

Surprisingly though, it may not be a lot cheaper to go to a makeover studio. After all, they are still a business with overheads and staffing costs and generally a makeover studios’ overheads will be higher than a luxury studios’ since they have more staff and higher marketing costs to attract larger volumes of clients.

That said, you would expect it to be at least a little less expensive.

So, a ‘conveyor-belt, makeover style’ shoot can be (but not necessarily be) cheaper than a luxury boudoir experience and a luxury boudoir experience certainly can be more expensive when you consider the purchase of books and wall art. This is another thing that marks us out from much of the competition.

When choosing your own Boudoir Experience, you’ll need to consider if it’s worth paying extra for products that will last as long as your lifetime, just as you’ll need to consider if food cooked by the greatest chefs is worth paying for.

We all need to eat, so it’s reasonable when we’re hungry, to satisfy that craving with a Big Mac and Fries but any foodie will save up to experience a Michelin Star meal and remember it long after the ingredients have been flushed away to sea.

By contrast, few people have a ‘need’ for a Boudoir Photoshoot so those women who would be perfectly happy with a few pictures on digitals to share on social media of a fun afternoon away from the kids, would probably be perfectly happy with a high street makeover experience.

However, women who are used to the very best things life has to offer, or women who feel bad about themselves, for whatever reason, and want to regain some confidence or gain some personal empowerment and are willing to invest in an experience that will help achieve those aims… These are the women who will really appreciate the extra level of care and attention given to them from a high end luxury Boudoir Experience.

4) Luxury Locations : To enhance our Luxury boudoir experiences we don’t use a generic, white walled studio which is a little unwelcoming for our kind of clients. Instead, we hire luxury venues with beautiful interiors that add to the overall ambiance and aesthetic appeal. These settings can contribute to a more sophisticated and upscale atmosphere. This means that our basic session fee of £189 may be a little higher than some other studios but, in many cases if you’d like to stay in the room/suite overnight after your shoot this is an included option. (Great if you’re having a shoot for a special occasion)

4) Privacy and discretion: We understand that privacy and discretion is important to our clients, and will take steps to ensure that your photos are kept private and secure at all times. (When our clients are so proud of their pictures that they allow us to share them, only then would we use them on social media or our website. )
