A boudoir photoshoot is an experience that will teach you how to love the body that you have now. It’s not something that should be delayed for when you’re “perfect” - we all know that perfection is an illusion and we’ve all spent too much time and energy hating and trying to change the only home that we will live in for the rest of our lives. WHAT IS THIS TERM ‘PLUS SIZE’ ANYWAY? (CURVY BOUDOIR)

Plus size… You hear this term everywhere.  “Plus size” is a phrase full of negative connotations for many people. It says “too much” and it also says “you can’t shop in the same shops as your friends” That said, we meet plenty of women who have taken the phrase and owned it. Women with a truly positive body image and who are proud of the person they are. Really inspirational. if only more ‘thin’ women could feel as positive. Search for ‘plus size’ on the internet and see how many boudoir photography sites come up. Dozens! Hate it or love it, this term seems to be a popular one. Do you prefer the term ‘plus size’ or curvy boudoir?

We talk to you beforehand to make sure we’re on the same page, we style your hair and make-up beautifully on the day (and take our time to get it right. There’s no ‘conveyor belt’ experience here) We advise you the outfits to bring so that you have several wardrobe options and we use all of Hazlewood Castle as our ‘studio’ so we have plenty of options. We know about posing and what works for evry body type and we coach you down to your fingertips. We then edit the best images to magazine standard and guarantee that your images will look as good as any we show on our website. (Oh, and we believe we have more images on our website than any other studio bar none in the UK …. This is not to overwhelm but to show you that we’ve done this before. many many times. Our ‘best’ work is the work we do today. If you want us to, we’ll use some of your pictures on our website. We haven’t seen you yet, but we’re confident, you’d fit right in. WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR MY CURVY BOUDOIR SHOOT?

There are a few maintenance type things that you’ll want to think about in preparation for your shoot. This isn’t a must-do list, it’s just some suggestions for things you may want to consider having done:

• If you colour your hair, get your roots done.

• If you get your nails done, choose a colour that will work with all your wardrobe options. A Neutral shade is usually best.

• Waxing/shaving. Whatever your routine, just make sure you’re happy with the state of things in time for your shoot.

• Eyebrows. We will make you up beautifully but but we won’t have time to ‘tweeze’

• We always recommend you drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your photo shoot. It really makes a difference to the appearance of your skin and eyes.

A note about wanting to lose weight before your session….Don’t worry. You are perfect as you are. You will look fabulous in the pictures we create together, whether you lose a few pounds or not. If you tell yourself you’re going to wait until you are the perfect target weight, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll never book a session. WHAT OUTFITS SHOULD I BRING TO MY SESSION?

What you wear can make or break a shoot, so be sure to leave yourself time to prepare the outfits you’d like to use. We recommend you bring at least 3 outfits.  Rather to have too many than too few. We’ll discuss wardrobe thoroughly before the shoot, but in general it’s nice to have plenty of variety. For curvier clients, bodysuits and shapewear are always popular options. If you’re planning a surprise or a gift for your significant other, you may also want to bring along something from his or her wardrobe (white shirts are perfect).
