We get comments like this all the time.

The funny thing is that all the pictures on our website are clients who have given their permission for us to post their pictures AND the vast majority of our clients are plus size.

You won’t notice size and you’ll never know our clients have never posed for the camera before because … well, that’s the art of what we do. No matter what your body shape, no matter what your age group and no matter how nervous you are, you will always look and feel gorgeous on a Madison Bou Photoshoot.

Remember, almost every woman is unhappy with their body in some way. Every woman wants something different… Ask a woman with large breasts, and they will tell you they are “too big”. Ask a woman with no boobs, and she will tell you she wants to be bigger. The same goes for the bum and even more for the tummy. What woman doesn’t have an issue with her tummy?

Actually, the women with the biggest hang-ups about their bodies are those size 6 girls.

The girls who look like what society has traditionally deemed as ‘models’ . Honestly, in our overall experience, the ‘model types’ are the most insecure about their looks.

Curves are what attract, and it is so much easier to show them in women who actually have them, than in those who don’t.

Please, don’t think that if you are a “plus size” or if you fear that you need to lose a few pounds, boudoir is not for you. Boudoir is most definitely for you and we would even say that if you have a photoshoot experience with us you will learn to love your body shape to the point where you will be more confident about yourself than ever before.

Think about this for a moment – What is better for your self esteem…. Seeing awesome pictures of you with the body you have now, or waiting till you reach your target weight and never quite reaching it? (Because you’ve tried dieting before haven’t you?)

No matter how much we talk about curves being sexy, we often get asked to “Make me a few sizes smaller” and while this can certainly be done in photoshop very easily, we would strongly discourage this practice. Imagine seeing yourself in pictures with a ‘perfect’ shape and body size and then looking in the mirror and discovering that you don’t match up. that can actually do your confidence more harm than good and we’re all about empowerment and building up your confidence by showing you just how beautiful you really are.

WHAT TO WEAR TO ENHANCE YOUR BEAUTY?

Here’s another interesting thing we’ve noticed over the years  of photographing ‘curvy girls’.

Women who feel they want to lose weight tend to cover their body more, avoiding accentuating their shape. The reality is that baggy clothes don’t help at all. It certainly doesn’t photograph as well.

Whatever shape and size your body is, try to enhance the hourglass shape: it will work wonders!

Here are some suggestions for clothes to wear on your shoot with Madison Bou :

• Bring along a corset or basque for shaping the waist and emphasising your bust. (If you’ve got it, flaunt it!) Make sure it is well fitting, even tight, especially across the chest.

• French knickers are great for creating a sexy, flattering line to show off your bum!

• Bring stockings and a waspie suspender belt, but not hold ups as hold ups have a tendency to tighten around the thigh too much.

• Scarves and floaty fabric for draping across your body. (though we have plenty of this)

• A pair of high heels and your favourite jewellery

• An overlarge white shirt always looks amazing. Bring your man’s shirt if you can. Unbutton the front and show off your cleavage to full effect. This is one of our most popular looks. Drop dead sexy. (Yep, just a simple white shirt and you)

• A good quality robe or gown, transparent or not. You’ll feel safe and less exposed.

• Bodysuit and playsuits can be drop dead sexy and give you more visual coverage and a curvier shape.
