So much of what makes a successful boudoir shoot is the ability to let yourself go a little and that takes a certain amount of trust.
When you choose a Photographer do your research before booking your Photoshoot.
Take a deep dive into the studio’s website, look through the blog, check them out on facebook.
See if their words resonate with you and have a look through previous client reviews.
Call them and ask them lots of questions.
Onbviously this sounds like a lot of work but the more you know about the experience the more you’ll be able to put your trust in them and let them do the work of making you look and feel fabulous.

We’ve been photographing Boudoir Photography for nearly 20 years so, trust us when we say, you’re in safe hands. The art of posing and lighting has come with the sweat equity of many years of practice.

Jayne is your stylist and will make sure your hair and make-up are on point at all times. She can also help your ‘en pointe’ after years of dance and ballet training. (She has danced around the world including Moulin Rouge, so you’re in safe hands with regards to posing and dramatic looks. )
I’m Dave, the photographer and Jayne’s life partner. I learned my skills over a 20 year career of photographing weddings and Boudoir. Even before Bridal Boudoir was a thing, brides started asking for some ‘sexy’ pictures to give as a wedding day gift.
We still photograph weddings. (Not as many as before but for those couples who want a specific look and super personal service, we’re here for them - See our Wedding Site HERE
Prior to photography, I spent 30 years playing songs on the radio. I think this is where I learned to talk to people and find out about their stories. It’s the reason clients find it so easy to relax with us. Jayne and I have a natural rapport which will encourage you to enjoy yourself on the shoot.
It’s probably the reason we have so many ‘Repeat Offenders’ (Those clients who come back again and again for another photoshoot)
When you show up for your photo shoot with us, we want you to be able to relax and trust that you are in the right place and that all the weird poses we make you do will actually look incredible. (“Just fall off the chaise Longue so your head is on the floor and arms outstretched with your bum in the air” ….. Erm…. probably a direct quote when we photographed Clare, pictured above)

TERRI’S AMAZING PHOTOSHOOT
What was your reason for wanting to do the shoot?
We are getting married next summer and I really wanted to feel more comfortable in my own skin and in front of a camera ahead of our photographs on the big day. Having struggled with my body confidence issues most of my life I decided it was time to embrace my body now, as it is- not after a diet/exercise regime and losing x number of pounds. Also as a mum I find I am often behind the camera instead of in front of it and it is nice to have some photographs of me where I am looking and feeling my best!

Please write a paragraph or two on your thoughts about your experience.
From the moment I walked in the door Jayne and Dave made me feel at ease. I loved having my hair and make up done and Jayne did a fantastic job. This was a great way to relax in to the experience too. I created a Pinterest board ahead of time to give an idea of the shoot I would like and Dave had clearly spent time looking through this and thinking of different ideas to try.
I had so much fun and both Dave and Jayne were excellent at giving direction and helping me to know how to pose, what to do with my hands, where to look etc. I was thrilled with the number of different looks we were able to achieve in the day and didn’t feel at all rushed at any point.
What was going through your mind when you viewed your pictures for the first time?
I absolutely love my pictures and couldn’t believe it was me at first. I was really surprised with how many lovely photos there were to choose from and we found it so hard to narrow our selection down for the album etc
Do you have any advice for other women who are thinking of this Experience?
Do it! Don’t over think it, don’t put it off until you have lost weight/toned up/got a tan etc just do it- you won’t regret it
