WEDDING BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHERS – The perfect gift for the perfect Groom
Madison Bou – Wedding Boudoir Photographers
We’ve been photographing Weddings for 20 years and during that time the concept of wedding boudoir or ‘bridal boudoir’ has increased dramatically. So much so, in fact, that having brides ask us to do some ‘sexy pictures’ for their husbands to be, has built the foundation for our portrait business.
You see, we were, almost exclusively a wedding studio. Every weekend shooting weddings, then 40 hours on editing and the engagement shoot plus the numerous meetings with the couple and members of the family…. That takes up a huge amount of time and resources for a studio. However, as we grew, and brides saw what we could do for them, we found that those brides looking for something a little different for their wedding photography, would actively seek us out and become drawn to the fact that we offered packages with wedding boudoir included. Sometimes it was added as an hour photo shoot on the morning of the wedding itself, but pretty soon it became an independent package which would be scheduled many weeks ahead of the wedding day so brides could create a perfect gift for the groom on the day.
Of course, now our portrait business has grown to the point that the majority of ‘boudoir’ photoshoots we do are not related to weddings at all, but there’s no denying that this wouldn’t have happened for us if it were not for our brides. We are Wedding Boudoir Photographers through and through.
Why would you book a Bridal Boudoir Photoshoot Experience?
• As the perfect gift for the perfect Groom in the form of a luxury book of fabulous pictures of the most important person in his life. YOU! (Our luxury books are made to last 99 years. Nothing is more personal. Something you’ve gone to this trouble for, dressed up for, chosen outfits for… Can a watch compare with that? Of course not. )
• This is the perfect excuse to pamper yourself rotten with hair and make-up and a fabulously fun time. A break from all the stress of organising the wedding day.
• It’s a great way to boost your confidence both in front of the camera (for your wedding day) and it will empower you generally. It’s the reason why thousands of women are booking boudoir photo shoots each year.
• Keep it top secret and private or get the bridesmaids involved and turn it into a party.
• Your Groom thinks you’re worth it, so you should too
• So many women secretly want to do this but don’t have the courage or motivation. (Doing something as indulgent as this can be a little scary) – However, doing something for the groom makes everything seem a little less ‘selfish’ and the self-motivation can come from this. (Like nonalcoholic ‘Dutch courage’ )
• The greatest benefit – The groom’s smile on receiving the amazing gift but even more than that, the immense feeling of power you will get from looking this good in your pictures. Of course, that feeling of power and confidence will return every time you see them.
What To Expect from your Wedding Boudoir Photoshoot
A big part of the boudoir experience is in the preparation. That preparation starts with looking at wedding boudoir photographers and finding the right photographer for you. This article will help you with that : HERE
Remember not to shop for a photographer purely on price. This is likely to prove to be a costly mistake since you may well not love your pictures. (Especially if you don’t normally love your pictures, why would you if you employ a photographer who is cheaper than everyone else? )
You want your groom to LOVE these pictures and you want to LOVE your pictures and you want the pictures to make you feel good everytime you see them. Make sure then, that you choose your boudoir photographer as carefully as you would your wedding dress or your wedding venue. Really, there are no shortcuts to this. (As in life. No pain, no gain )
Make sure you love the photographer’s pictures (At the very minimum, because they will only show their best work and if their best work isn’t good enough why would your pictures be any better? ) Also, check the photographers reviews. This will give you some one else’s opinion of the photographer you’re considering.
Why not make It A Party?
Consider bringing your bridal party to the shoot. Make a day of it at Hazlewood Castle and enjoy the Vavasour Restaurant or Imagine Spa onsite.
Everyone can get hair and makeup done, have some Prosecco, chat, relax, and have a fun day. Everyone can have some pictures taken, even though the main focus is on the bride. Perhaps the bridesmaids could pay for the bride’s book of images as a wedding gift to her. Everyone wins and has a great day at the same time.
What To Wear
This is the fun part, preparing your outfits.
Some brides want their session to be strictly bridal lingerie but this could be a missed opportunity. We would suggest, since you’re going to all the trouble to book a boudoir photoshoot, that you bring a variety of outfits. You’ll find plenty of suggestions for outfits HERE and some Lingerie suggestions HERE.

Don’t forget accessories for your photoshoot. The veil and jewelry for example. Anything in lace is good or anything transparent. White stockings and white corsets are great too as well as flower bouquets if you have them…
Really though, you can wear as much or as little as you want for a bridal boudoir photoshoot. The day is all about you and your style. Remember, you and your groom should love these pictures for the rest of your lives together.
We even recommend you bring a couple of dresses so that we can start the session with some pictures with more clothes on for the anticipation of the great reveal to come.
When You Should Schedule Your Session
Most wedding boudoir photographers will most likely be busy, especially during the important ‘wedding season’, Summer months so you’ll need to book early to allow enough time for the pictures to be edited (a couple of weeks) and then you’ll need to choose your favourites. The layout can take a couple of weeks and has to be approved before printing and then, of course, the book will need to be made and this can take several weeks.
Try to book your boudoir session a few months ahead of your wedding date.
With all the stresses of the wedding, the last thing you need is the stress that your album won’t arrive in time because it’s being rushed. So, book as early as you can. Remember, Albums can often take 6-8 weeks to produce so allow at least two months to ensure everything arrives on time.
