WHY A SWEATER IS A PERFECT LOOK FOR YOUR BOUDOIR PHOTOSHOOT

We often get asked what outfits to bring to the session by our new clients.

We then list the outfits that seem to always work for boudoir and then we suggest that they should also bring a stretchy wool jumper to the shoot and you can hear the jaws drop to the floor at the other end of the phone.

A jumper? How could that be as sexy as lingerie? We’ll trust us when we say… They are.

It can be worn in so many ways, you can wear a sweater off the shoulder, lift it up to get the rare under-boob look or use it to hide areas that someone might be self conscious about. Open weave, real wool sweaters are best to allow that tantalising ‘peek a boo’ sexiness and the bigger and stretchier the better. (Also, try and stay clear of patterns. Plain and simple but great quality jumpers are an investment and so worth the extra)

Even a cardigan has its place among other Boudoir essentials. A cardigan with buttons, that you can unbutton and button back up….. seriously, what could be sexier? Sleeves can be pulled over the hands for a snuggly, soft look. Sweaters are great for showing off the curves and contours of the body in a subtle, yet powerful, manner. In the pictures below, an open weave, white top is used showing yet another variation of the stretchy jumper idea. These stretchy fabrics are so adaptable and work on pretty much anyone.

Boudoir is about celebrating moments of intimacy, and what better way to convey that closeness than by wrapping yourself in the warmth of a sweater?

The tactile quality of knit fabric enhances the tactile experience, creating a cozy atmosphere that invites a genuine and relaxed expression of sensuality.

Whether it's an oversized chunky knit, a delicate cashmere pullover, or an off-the-shoulder number, sweaters offer a range of styles that can be tailored to suit your personal taste and the mood you wish to convey during the photoshoot. Versatility is key.

For Winter boudoir photoshoots, a sweater suggests a seasonal charm. The cozy aesthetic of a sweater paired with the right accessories, such as knee-high socks or over-the-knee boots, can create a winter style sensuality, capturing the mood of the season.

As we’ve stated many times before, Boudoir doesn't always have to be about elaborate lingerie sets and intricate poses. A simple stretchy sweater provides an effortless elegance that is equally, if not more, captivating than lingerie. The simplicity of the look allows for a more relaxed and natural portrayal of your unique beauty. It’s also far less intimidating to wear than a full on lingerie outfit so will suit the more modest or nervous client.

Decide for yourself after looking at these pictures, if the cozy, stretchy, sweater look is for you but for our money, these outfits are just as sexy as stockings and stilettos. (In fact, you can turn the heat up on this look by adding knee high socks)

A sweater forms a kind of canvas that blends comfort with elegance, vulnerability with strength, and simplicity with sensuality.

Choosing a sweater for your boudoir photoshoot is a great way to redefine traditional aesthetics, embracing a look that is as intimate as it is sophisticated. It may also be more true to you than a ‘bra and knicker’ set and if you think that’s the case, we say…. Go for it!
