WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOURSELF?

Have you ever had one of those days where you say to your partner “Wow, have you been working out, your stomach looks so flat” and they say “What this beer belly?” and then they say “Your hair looks so good” and you say “you kidding, I haven’t washed it in three days”

and the conversation continues where each of you is trying to prove that you are the less attractive one because it’s easier and it feels harder to big yourself up.

What we see happen though, is that when a client comes in for a session and has hair and makeup done and then sees a few shots on the back of the camera, it takes away that negative voice. It’s no longer “I’m not skinny enough” or “I’m not pretty enough” – For the first time in forever, you start to see yourself as your friends see you or as your partner sees you and to be able to show that to you is, for us, one of the most incredible things.

Why You Deserve a Boudoir Experience

“If you don't love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else?”…RuPaul

Our daughter is addicted to RuPAUL on the TV so we have heard that expression a thousand times and everytime it resonates in the most powerful way.

Sometimes when we get nervous, we make up excuses not to do something. Of course, for many, the thought of being photographed causes real anxiety so the excuses come thick and fast. ‘Don’t have the time’, ‘Not at my ideal weight right now,’ ‘Not feeling sexy’, ‘don’t have the money’, - Mostly our excuses are just a way of saying, we don’t love ourselves. That RuPaul statement is so true. One of the biggest problems we encounter is that people don’t love themselves, they believe all the negative lies they’ve told themselves over the years, that they’re ‘not good enough’ and then that negativity starts to rub off on the people around them.

Well, we believe a Madison Bou Boudoir Photoshoot can change all that and help you see yourself much more positively ….

“Loving Yourself Isn’t Vanity, It’s Sanity”

A Boudoir Experience with Madison Bou Photography is all about learning to set some time aside and prioritise showing ourselves some love and compassion once in a while.

You see, as a general rule, we spend so much time prioritising those we love in our life that we never seem to put aside any time for ourselves. It can be exhausting looking after our significant other and the kids and pretty soon we find that we have no life at all.

Many of our clients tell us that they feel that over the years they’ve lost themselves and don’t really know who they are any more.

There is a saying that you can’t love anyone else unless you love yourself first and this means putting the the work in to becoming the best you can be.

In fact, we believe that a little self indulgence isn’t selfish but actually essential for overall health and happiness!

Taking care of yourself should be you number one priority. We only get one brief lifetime and it’s important to enjoy it as much as possible. After all - You’re worth it!

LEARN TO LOVE YOURSELF IN LINGERIE

Isn’t our attitude to sexuality a little strange in this country?

Images of violence and war are more acceptable than a glimpse of a female nipple.

Of course, male nipples are fine to show with gay abandon.

Why do we allow our children to play games that promote violence and listen to songs about sex and greed but get all flustered when asked if we want to have a nice framed piece of wall art made from our boudoir session?

So often we hear “I don’t want my kids to see me in this way.”

Why!?

Why can’t we be proud of our bodies and our sexuality?

Why should we not show them that it is NORMAL to be proud of your body?

A boudoir photoshoot could be the perfect excuse to show our kids that we are proud enough to display yourself as a work of art.

“Last year I had a photo shoot with Madison Bou. I can’t recommend Dave enough as a photographer. If you are camera-phobic, he has a way of making you forget it’s even there. He has a great team of make up artists and assistants who managed to turn me from looking like something the cat had dragged in to this!” … Clare
