Why Latex Is Perfect For An Alternative Boudoir Photoshoot

All outfits here are made by Fetasia Latex, hand made in the U.K. Latex designs.

Check out the website https://fetasialatex.com/

Fetasia Latex are based in Leeds and started in 2010.

Leafie discovered that most latex clothing available was to big for her petite size so, she decided to try her hand at creating her own designs. Dix, her partner, makes the designs a reality. He hand makes each piece of latex clothing, except for the appliques. These are now cut by in house laser cutter. They create pieces ranging from Cosplay interpretations, Pin Up, High Fashion and heavy rubber fetish.

WHY DO THE WOMEN ON THIS WEBSITE LOOK LIKE MODELS

When women tell they can’t do a Boudoir Photoshoot because they don’t look like the “models” on our website.

First of all, yes you can! And secondly. The “models” on our website are not models at all.

They are everyday women just like you.

They are mums, teachers, nurses, waitresses, cashiers, technicians, and a multitude of other professions.

The vast majority of the women you see on our website did not have an inkling of how to be a model before walking in the door. Why would they? After all, modelling is a craft just like any other. It takes time to learn the craft, it’s not just about being pretty. There are millions of people who fit into that category. Being a model is about looking confident and natural in front of the camera. Most people tend to look quite awkward without a little tutoring.

That’s what we’re here for. During your shoot with us we will guide you every step of the way. We will point your toes, tell you what to do with your hands and help you with your facial expressions. It’s why the women in our ‘portfolio’ look comfortable on camera, because we’ve worked hard with them to make them feel comfortable, even with very few clothes on.

Is Every Woman You Photograph A Model?

We have hundreds of women featured on our website. You’ll find the women we’ve photographed in the portfolio section and throughout the blog, in dozens of articles. Is it likely that we’ve paid money to hire models for every single picture? How on earth would we make money?

The truth is that we have used models, particularly early on in our career and recommend the use of models when high quality pictures are needed for education or marketing purposes because models should be better at relaxing in front of the camera in an efficient and timely manner. They’ll also agree to the use of their images for marketing because, well, that’s their job. However, it would be impossible to set up a business based on purely the work of models. The last model we hired was several years ago and these days we never use models unless they hire us to refresh their portfolio. The simple fact is that our business is based on experience and trust. We have worked with hundreds of women of all ages and all sizes and we work really hard to build trust with our clients so that they relax and feel comfortable in front of the camera and looking relaxed and comfortable is the secret to looking amazing in boudoir photos. With few exceptions, every woman you see on our website is an everyday Mum, Nurse, retail worker, admin assistant, manager, bar tender, lawyer, Doctor…. You name it, an everyday woman. Not a model. With few exceptions, almost every woman you see on our website has never been professionally photographed before and certainly not half dressed in such an intimate and personal way. Many of these women don’t generally wear make up or heels and rarely get the opportunity to ‘glam up’ for anything other than special occasions. Many are in relationships that have cooled off the the point that they come to us to reignite their spark. They want us to help them find their mojo once more.

Life is often seen as a series of highs and lows with the rush of excitement often giving way to the mundanity of the everyday. Our clients often come to us during the more mundane periods to regain that rush of excitement they feel they deserve. They come to us to learn how to love themselves again (or maybe even for the first time)

This is why a Boudoir Experience with Madison Bou is so powerful. It’s a way of increasing your own self worth and all the women below are normal women, just like you, yet, you’ll see they end up looking just like models. We don’t make these women look beautiful, we just allow their natural beauty to shine.

A MISSED OPPORTUNITY

What do you do with all the newspapers after you’ve read them? Maybe they just collect dust in a corner of the room or in a magazine rack somewhere. I never have time to read it all and often the Magazine section hangs around for a few days before I get round to reading the articles inside.

One model and all our old copies of the Sunday times collecting dust in the corner. (Yep, there was a lot of them) - The idea was to cover everywhere with the Sunday Times and to have the model almost completely lost in amongst it all. An idea that ended up taking over the entire day. Worth it though to get pictures like these…

The missed opportunity? - We didn’t persue the Sunday Times about running a little story on this. Shame on us.

A GOTHIC STYLED SHOOT AT MIDLAND HOTEL, BRADFORD

As photographers, we often find ourselves immersed in capturing moments, chasing deadlines, and striving to deliver the best possible shots for our clients and while this is undeniably essential, it's equally crucial to embark on creative journeys that push the boundaries of our artistry.

This Gothic styled shoot at the iconic Midland Hotel in Bradford was a testament to the importance of setting up these unique and imaginative projects.

Photography, like any art form, is a journey of growth and self-discovery. Creative photoshoots allow you to experiment with new techniques, styles, and concepts. They challenge you to adapt, learn, and evolve as an artist.

For this shoot featuring the amazing Collette Von Tora and fabulous hair by Andreas Constantinou, we chose the iconic Midland Hotel as our backdrop. Its historic architecture, ornate details, and timeless elegance provided the perfect canvas for our creative vision.

FETASIA LATEX • LATEX BOUDOIR

Latex is great as a material as it is very forgiving. It holds you in nicely and hugs the body to give a great body shape and oomph to the cleavage. Although it is initially very cold to put on, it gets incredibly warm and comfortable very quickly.

More celebrities, such as Katy Perry and Amanda Holden wear latex now for those figure-hugging silhouettes.

“Last year I had a photo shoot with Madison Bou. I can’t recommend Dave enough as a photographer. If you are camera-phobic, he has a way of making you forget it’s even there. He has a great team of make up artists and assistants who managed to turn me from looking like something the cat had dragged in to this!” … Clare
