We know that for many people, posing in front of a camera is a daunting experience.

It’s taken us years to learn the art of relaxing clients in front of our camera. It’s a combination of great direction, calm temperament and good conversation. (Dave spent 2 decades working as a Radio DJ and learned the art of conversation during that time. I worked as a dancer for 20 years and know the art of dramatic posing and great poise. These skills work to our advantage when we work together to make you feel confident and camera ready. )

We started photographing couples as we began the business photographing brides and grooms for weddings. We would always schedule an engagement shoot first with the couples in less formal outfits and less formal venues so they get used to the experience of being photographed. It was essential because it also gave us the opportunity to get to know one another and the closer we became, the better and more natural the pictures.This led us to create more fashion styled couple photography for our discerning couples. These couples were drawn to our work because it reminded them of the fashion style magazines they would read.

Of course, you don’t need to be getting married to enjoy a couples photoshoot. It’s a perfect excuse to spend some time together and create a document of your life story together.

How often have you had amazing experiences with your partner, but with no evidence to show for it? - That’s what this experience is for.

Our photography sessions are a great excuse to really have fun together. The resulting pictures will show you exactly as you are together. Totally in love and having fun. Oh, and super glamorous to boot!

No pressure, we take care of everything. Location, we advise on outfits if you need it, we’ll stylise and help with posing and make you look like being photographed is the most natural thing in the world.

Of course, Boudoir can be a really private experience, but for some women, it’s a perfect opportunity for some mutually positive re-enforcement. Getting moral support from your bestie is such a wonderful thing. Plus it’s a great way to ease the nerves if someone you love and trust is with you through the experience.

A Bride will often come with her Bridesmaid as a special treat for them both and the bride will often hide the expense in with the overall wedding budget. Celebrate the fact that we can now do exactly what we want to do without having to worry about the little ‘uns anymore. Do exactly what we want in the boardroom and the bedroom because we have the experience to be decisive. That experience has taught us well and now we know more about pleasing ourselves and our partners. We may have a little baggage but we have no hidden agendas and don’t play games and we’re definitely not needy.

In our 50s we have the brains and ability to express our opinions without worrying about what others might think. This makes us interesting. It’s amazing to feel so free and powerful. Oh, and one of our strongest superpowers is the ability to not have to rely on others before we make a decision. We don’t need to turn to social media for approval.

This is our life and we can live it exactly as we wish.

PAPER ANNIVERSARY - FIRST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Now, to celebrate that first wonderful year, an amazing gift is a must... but what should it be? Well, lots of people like to follow the traditional anniversary gift conventions, and as we all know the first anniversary is the paper anniversary (Paper symbolises the blank pages on which you write the newest chapter in your life. )

Here’s an example of a Madison Bou Photoshoot experience which includes a boudoir set in one of the beautiful suites within Hazlewood Castle.

This features the stunning headboard of the Hibiscus Suite. We love the opulence and colour. In the outer suite are the large window frames which work so well for the backlit, high key images.

We also created some great fashion style images outside the entrance to the hotel and in the courtyard and inside in our purpose built courtyard studio.

The weather was so lovely on the day that Holly decided she wanted to try some woodland nymph type shots of a more fine art nature so the day was perfect for this.

Rounding off, we took a short trip over the road to a dis-used petrol station which has a cool urban look with it’s graffiti and car wash and coke machine.

We know, everyone is different, with different body shapes and range of movement. Every client has a different comfort level as well with regard to how much of their body they want to show off.

Every Madison Bou Experience is customised around the individual. We know that what works for one client may well be totally wrong for another.
